MEET BARBARA GAINES
Councilwoman for Groveland’s District 3, a proven leader at the federal and local level, and an entrepreneur with an undeniable passion to be the collective voice for our District.

I am Barbara Gaines and I’m running for Groveland’s City Council District 3. I’ve been married for 35 years and my husband and I have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. I’ve been a resident of Groveland for 6 years and this community is an extraordinary place to live. For 35+ years, I served my country and community at the federal level. I want to continue my service on the City Council because of my passion for public service. When we moved here as permanent snowbirds, we chose Groveland because we felt, and still feel, that Groveland lives up to its reputation as the “City with Natural Charm.”
I care about Groveland and the people who live, work, and play here and I truly believe your voice matters. Some citizens in District 3 feel they are not represented as we plan for growth that will affect every citizen, in every neighborhood. I believe we need a balanced Council with representatives with diverse backgrounds. I know I am the person who can bridge the gap between the community and the Council. My experience and leadership as a public servant gives me a unique perspective that will help the Council and staff in building a consensus on critical policies. I am committed to moving Groveland forward into what is possible with your help. I don’t want this to be a campaign about me...I want this to be a campaign about us. Elect me to elevate your voices, your concerns and provide solutions that will benefit all of us. Let's work together as we make the necessary #GainesForGroveland.
See you on the trail!
